Lip Blush

Welcome to Lip Blushing at North York Ink!

Are you looking to enhance the color and shape of your lip to give off more fullness in your lips without having to do fillers? Lip Blush just might be for you.

PMU also known as ‘permanent makeup’ is a technique borrowed from the traditional tattoo industry where coloured ink is deposited into the skin. In this case, it is placed where makeup would normally be used to enhance our features. Although named as permanent, lip blush is actually considered a ‘semi-permanent’ procedure due to the fast regeneration of the skin on our lips. Meaning you’ll revert back to your original lips eventually depending on how you care for them.

The Healing and

aftercare process

  • There will be moderate swelling from when your procedure is completed to about 48 hours.
  • You may use a ziploc bag filled with ice to help reduce the swelling if necessary for no more than 15 mins at a time.
  • You will be provided with a moisturizing ointment to apply to your lips during the healing process.
  • Drink lots of water and avoid eating spicy and difficult to eat food. Go for softer food that contains more nutrients without the need to chew as much.
  • Avoid kissing!
  • Do not use lipstick.
  • Your lips will have minimal to moderate scabbing.
  • When scabbing/flaking occurs, allow the scabs to fall off naturally.
  • Do not pick, peel, bite or scratch the scab.
  • Expect the color to eventually lighten by up to 40%-50% once the healing process is complete.
  • Colour may appear uneven at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results. The true result will be seen at around week 4
  • Eating is easier during this stage but be mindful still.
  • Avoid kissing still.
  • Do not use lipstick.
  • Your lips should be almost done healing!
  • Any last bits of scabbing will naturally fall off on its own.
  • Consult with your artist on whether a touch up/fill in is required.
  • Ink still needs time to settle and can take a few more weeks.
  • Avoid putting up lipstick for the next few weeks.
